Our children are our most precious gift. We are deeply frustrated and saddened when we observe them suffering. Choosing how to provide them relief can be a frustrating and challenging process for many of us. On October 18-19, 2007, two committees of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) gathered in Maryland to discuss safety and efficacy of OTC cough and cold medicines for children. The panels, in a majority vote of 13-nine, voted to recommend to FDA that cough and cold active ingredients no longer be available for use in children under six-years old....
Although this is only a recommendation and the FDA had not made a final ruling, confusion and concern is widespread among parents concerned about the welfare of their children. For more information, see link below.
